The wafer butterfly valve is a type of valve commonly used in fluid control systems.
Structure and Characteristics:
- As the name suggests, it has a wafer-like body. It is designed to be installed between two pipe flanges, without the need for additional bolting lugs like the lug butterfly valve. This makes it compact and space-saving.
- The valve consists of a butterfly disc, a stem, and a body. The disc is usually made of materials such as stainless steel, carbon steel, depending on the application requirements.
- The stem is connected to the disc and is used to rotate it to control the flow of fluid. The valve body is typically made of the same material as the disc or a compatible material.
Working Principle:
- When the disc is rotated to a position perpendicular to the flow of the fluid, the valve is closed and stops the flow. When the disc is rotated to a position parallel to the flow, the valve is open and allows the fluid to pass through. The degree of opening can be adjusted to control the flow rate.
